Eric Charsky served in both the United States Navy and the United States Army, including time in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. When his service ended, the work did not slow down; it simply changed shape. For more than twenty-five years, he has built recruiting organizations and helped companies and government organizations across engineering, construction, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and related fields find and retain the people who get the job done.
He’s the founder of Charsky Group, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, and he’s spent his career in rooms with people who carry real responsibility — operators, executives, tradesmen, public officials, and the men and women who report to them. That’s not a credential he leads with. It’s just where most of his working life has happened.
Forged In Courage isn’t a pivot away from any of that. It’s what happens when a guy who’s spent his life around hard problems and harder people decides to talk about the things that actually shape how those people lead, believe, and hold up under pressure.
Why Forged In Courage Exists
Eric didn’t start this because he had free time. He started it because he kept noticing the same gap everywhere he went: in business, in faith, in conversations with veterans and entrepreneurs and parents trying to keep their heads on straight. Everyone was getting plenty of noise. Almost nobody was getting context.
He’d spent his service years learning what it means to depend on people you can’t see and trust decisions you didn’t make. He’d spent his business years learning that leadership only means something when things are falling apart, not when they’re easy. And somewhere in the middle of all that, his faith stopped being something he assumed and became something he actually had to stand on, especially during a stretch of serious health problems and multiple surgeries that stripped away anything that wasn’t real.
That’s the thread running underneath Forged In Courage. Not a brand built around a personality. A platform built around a belief that faith, freedom, and fellowship are meant to reinforce one another, and that most of us are trying to figure out how to do that without much help.
