Faith Is Made the Way Steel Is Made
Faith here is neither assumed nor simply handed down. Like steel, it is forged under heat and pressure, then tested by whether it holds when everything else gives way. It’s not measured by what someone says they believe during the easy stretches of life. It shows up when hardship strips away everything that isn’t real.
Faith is not empty religion. It is not performance or the pretense of having an answer for everything that goes wrong. Faith is trusting God when the answers don’t come, and they often don’t, not on your timeline anyway.
Where This Belief Comes From
Forged In Courage is built on the idea that God’s strength is most visible right where our own strength runs out. Anyone who’s been through real suffering — loss, failure, illness, disappointment, the kind of adversity that doesn’t ask permission — already understands this without needing it explained.
Faith is the forge where character actually gets shaped. It’s where conviction gets tested instead of just talked about, and where grace stops being a word in a sermon and starts being something you’ve lived. It’s the foundation on which everything else here is built.
Not Easy Answers. Honest Ones.
A lot of faith-based content promises certainty it can’t actually deliver: five steps to peace, a verse for every problem, the implication that if you’re struggling, you’re doing something wrong. That’s not what happens here.
Eric’s own faith was tested through military service, through more than two decades of building businesses, and through a serious health crisis that included multiple surgeries and a fight he wasn’t guaranteed to win. None of that produced tidy answers. It produced a faith that’s actually been load-tested, and that’s the only kind worth talking about publicly.
Why Faith Has to Be Foundational, Not Optional
Culture treats faith like a private preference, something you keep quiet about so nobody’s uncomfortable. Forged In Courage treats it like the foundation everything else stands on: leadership, freedom, fellowship, how you handle a bad diagnosis, how you run a company when the numbers turn against you.
Strip faith out and the other two pillars don’t hold the same weight. Freedom without faith becomes self-interest with better branding. Fellowship without faith becomes networking. Faith is what gives the other two something real to stand on.
